El Govern atorga 600.000 euros de subvenció a Òmnium
El Govern català ha acordat concedir una  subvenció a Òmnium Cultural de 600.000 euros exclosa de concurrència pública amb l'objectiu "que es destini a realitzar activitats i projectes destinats a fomentar i divulgar la llengua i cultura del nostre país durant l'any 2006".  El Govern justifica l'ajut públic perquè "Òmnium Cultural és una entitat que treballa per a la promoció i la normalització de la llengua, la cultura i la identitat nacional de Catalunya. Fundada el 1961, l'entitat compta actualment amb 16.000 socis" i perquè "és voluntat d'Òmnium esdevenir el punt de trobada de la societat civil. Una casa comuna generadora d'idees i projectes que permetin afrontar els nous reptes que planteja una societat canviant i en constant evolució: la Catalunya del segle XXI. És per això que Òmnium ha obert una nova etapa amb la qual vol prendre la iniciativa de portar més enllà la llengua, la cultura i el país".
