WORLD TOUR 2003/2004 TO
TO START OCTOBER 21ST IN AUSTRALIA

Clear Channel Entertainment, in association with Dainty Consolidated Entertainment proudly present the long awaited return of Prince to Australia.

One of the most influential figures in modern rock history and a legendary live performer, these performances will be Prince's first Australian appearances in a decade and will feature Prince performing his hits live for the last time. The tour follows the release of Prince's new CD, "N.E.W.S." available in stores and on his web site: www.npgmc.com.

Prince's Australia tour starts in Melbourne on October 21 at the Rod Laver Arena, followed by Sydney at the Sydney Entertainment Center on October 24, concluding in Brisbane at the Brisbane Entertainment Center on October 27.

Few artists have created a body of work as rich and varied as Prince. During the '80s, he emerged as one of the most singular talents in the history of music. Not only did he release a series of groundbreaking albums, he toured frequently, produced albums and wrote songs for many other artists, and recorded thousands of songs that still lie unreleased in his vaults. With each successive album, Prince has shown remarkable stylistic growth and musical diversity, constantly experimenting with different sounds, topics and genres.

Prince has sold over 100 million records and is still widely regarded as an influence on popular culture. His electrifying live performances have been a staple of his career and this time around will be more spectacular than ever.

Buenos señores, las fechas para Australia han sido ampliadas, así ahora tenemos:

Serán caras y todo lo demás, pero creo que el local de Sidney tiene capacidad para 15.000 personas, así que hagan sus cuentas y comentarios que consideren oportunos.

     Hay qué tener en cuenta qué no tocaba en Australia desde 1992 (Gira Diamonds And Pearls, primera y única visita de P a las antípodas) así qué la gente debe estar ansiosa por verle. Y a la gente Australiana hay qué añadir a los de Nueva Zelanda (qué está relativamente cerca) a donde NUNCA ha ido. Yo recuerdo qué en el Estadio de Wembley (1993) habia muchísimos australianos (se les nota por su acento ininteligible)... Y para acabar, estos acontecimientos creo qué reafirman mi tesis de qué "mientras la gente se pegue por pillarlas, yo pongo las entradas a riñón y medio de precio"

     Y cuando a finales de Noviembre alguno vea la Final de la Copa Davis de tenis (España - Australia) qué mire bién el pabellón (Rod Laver Arena, antes National Tennis Centre) y piense qué un mes antes P estuvo tocando allí...   Y si alguien qué no lo sepa tiene curiosidad en saber quién es el 'tal' Rod Laver, este señor es (porqué todavia vive) el mejor jugador australiano de tenis de la historia, y el único jugador de la historia qué ha ganado los 4 torneos del Grand Slam (thank u ma'am  ) en un año (y, si no recuerdo mal, además 2 veces, en 1968 y 1969)

Mike, aunque se sale bastante del tema y con todos los respetos para esta leyenda del deporte, sólo quiero puntualizar que el tenis de los 50 y de los 60 era "de juguete" comparado con lo que vino después (Connors, Borj, Vilas, McEnroe, Lendel, etc.). Eran otros tiempos, en los que el tenis seguía teniendo un alto grado 'aristocrático'. Laver ganó sus Grand Slam (thank U ma'am  ) en el 62 y en el 69, año este último en que algunos tuvimos la suerte de aterrizar, fíjate si ha llovido
