Acabo de venir del estreno (o preestreno mejor) en Puertollano de "Volver" de Pedro Almodóvar. Ya se que aquí hay gente que no le gusta nada, pero para aquel/aquella que le guste, les recomiendo la peli. Es estupenda, me ha gustado muchísimo. A mi es que Almodóvar me encanta, que le vamos a hacer. No se si hay algún manchego en el poblado o soy el único, pero la película esta llena de giros y mancheguismos que hace mucha gracia oír en boca de Lola Dueñas, Penélope Cruz o la grandisima Carmen Maura. Esto ultimo es lo que mas ilusión me ha hecho, ver otra vez a Maura en una película de Almodóvar, y está sensacional, que pedazo de actriz, aunque mi debilidad es Lola Dueñas, que buena es.
Lo dicho, que si os gusta el cine y el universo almodovariano os la recomiendo de corazón 
"Volver" se estrena el viernes 17 en toda España.

Pues no sé cómo estará Penélope, pero eso de que la pongan a cantar un bolero, un bolero que cantado por Gardel es gloria pura, es que me pone los pelos de punta...

Lo cierto es que no la aguanto, me parece que está muy sobrevalorada y encima es montajista, no me gusta un pelo.

Eso sí, la peli la veré, tengo ganas de ver a Maura, la mejor entre las mejores

     Pues hombre, no es por desanimar a tu amigo, pero recuerdo que en mi última visita a Londres (Mayo de 2004) estaban poniendo la entonces última pelíicula de Almodóvar (no recuerdo cual era, creo que la que la dieron el Oscar) en una multisala al lado de Piccadilly Circus, junto a varios 'taquillazos' USA (uno de ellos era el segundo volumen de 'Kill Bill', de Tarantino). Almodóvar, guste o no guste, hay que reconocer que ha sabido llegar al estrellato internacional haciendo, como decia alguien que tampoco recuerdo (mejor), 'películas de maricones y drogados' 

     Por cierto, en Puertollano vivía una GRAN fan de Prince... ¿estás por ahí, Nuria?

Penélope aqui esta muy bien, y eso que a mi en otras peliculas no me convence mucho, pero cuando la dirige Almodóvar, sabe sacarle otros registros.

En las últimas semanas Penélope Cruz y Salma Hayek han pasado mucho tiempo juntas promocionando la película "Bandidas", justo después del lanzamiento del vídeo de Prince dirigido por Hayek; he pensado que diciendo que su músico favorito es Prince, Penélope Cruz está a la vez promocionando a su compañera de reparto en su faceta de directora, pero he encontrado este reportajillo fechado el 16 de enero de 2002 [gloriosa fecha para mí, dicho de paso  ] en el que ya nos cuentan que a la Pe le encanta escuchar música de Peter Gabriel, Prince y Mozart

Sobre una de esas fiestas a las que asistió la Pe, es del año pasado por los Oscars,

The 3121 Report: Oscars

My headlights beam back a purple blaze of two symbols adorned upon the
black gates. This is the way to 3121. Up the long driveway to a royal
white mansion. A valet graciously opens my door. I had not attended the
Oscars but suddenly felt like a star transformed on the 10 feet of
purple carpet that went up the stairs towards his 20 foot tall glass doors.

This is the story of two solid nites that felt like one huge
experimental historic jam. If I had the nerve to talk to Prince, I would -- just
to ask what kind of vitamins he takes to throw a party, jam until 6 am.
Get up, go to the Oscars, jam until 7 am.

Normally, I would name drop every celebrity there; but I prefer to
conjure up the moment (right before Pam Anderson spilled her drink on me)
that left me energized and exhausted, exhilarated and delirious. A
witnessing of raw passion of unequivocal talent that tasted so sweet, so
dang good, it was THE moment captured at '3121.' And it had nothing to do
with Oscar host, Chris Rock trading political commentary with Spike Lee
nor good-looking couple Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillipe hobnobbing
with Clive Owen and Chris Tucker.

A perfectly synchronized Asian vibe complemented the mood. Food --
delectable. At 3 a.m. the house band walked in. Behind them, lavender
lights punctuated by a beautifully lit, now infamous symbol floating above
the steamy pool set the tone. (The backyard can be viewed by the
"invisible" glass wall -- providing an amazing backdrop for what was to come.)

The band started to jam. Lead vocalist, Ashley, belted out some
classics while Frank's keys began to percolate. Halfway through the set -- a
flash of gold to my left caught my eye. I paid no mind, thinking it was
just Christina Aguliera's hair or perhaps Maroon 5's collective beaming
faces. Didn't matter... I was getting into a comfortable 2-step when
the earth shifted. The energy changed. Everyone around me leaned in. The
music got FONKIER. I looked around ... the chef, the waitresses, the
ENTIRE STAFF all stopped working and straight up started GROOVING! I
thought I was in a reproduction of "CARWASH"!

I knew Jeff Gordon was in the house, but he was walking, not driving. I
stepped up a few feet and saw the housequake in the flesh crack the
floor in two! PRINCE was SIMULTANEOUSLY playing keyboards and guitar in
the middle of Stevie Wonder's "I Wish." My mouth fell open and my drink
nearly fell out of my hand into Cedric the Entertainer's lap. I saw
folks run and grab their people in order to witness the incredible sight.

The man was on FI-YAH! The windows were smoldering. Regina King's gold
lame dress was curling up. It was so hot in there the devil was 'fraid
to set foot. Cora, the drummer -- broke it down so hard, she popped the
skins back on the little piggy's belly it came from.

Prince in his beautiful gold mandarin collared outfit was having such a
blast, I elbowed Salma Hayek and Penelope Cruz out of the way for a
closer look. I'm no stalker but after his searing guitar solo in "Whole
Lotta Love", adding a lethal cocktail of funk to "Rock Steady",
reinventing Michael J's "Don't Stop till You get Enough" -- well, I had to stare
because no less than two feet in front of me was a Rock Star causing an
eclipse in his own living room.

Suddenly in the middle of dancing and playing he flipped us a
synchopated groove that I can only compare to... well.. to nothing I've ever
heard before: "Thru the gates.. Leave Ur clothes on the floor... Take Ur
pick from the Japanese robes and sandals... Don't you wanna come...
3121... Gonna b so much fun... 3121... U can come if U want 2, but U can
never leave...". I thought an anthropologist was gonna investigate it was
so off the missing-link chain!!!

Even reclusive Joni Mitchell couldn't resist shaking her thang while
Rachelle Ferrell added a vocal flair that extended the jam into a 24"
single. Black Eyed Peas cut in to wrap it up, but they just unraveled it
more and allowed Prince to string us along.

When I finally peeled myself from the moment, I scanned the room and
saw the look of amazement on every face. Jaded celebrities looked like
giddy little girls getting their first Barbie. And I don't mean Pam.

I was surprised I lived to see past the dawn.

3121. I have a feeling it's just begun.

PRINCE is slowly but surely shortening my time here on this earth.
Everytime I go to one of his parties, I think I lose at least a year
of my life. My blood starts quickening, my heart starts racing, I
lose sleep and I start to sweat profusely. Maybe that's due to the
fact that I can't stop dancing and tearing up his fine floor with my
Manolo's.

This weekend was no exception. Saturday's Pre-Grammy party was
busting out at the seams with a new band I hear Prince has put
together that simmers with the sound of old soul. Young vocalist
Ashley and keboardist/vocalist Frank McComb mesmerized sultry John
Mayer, Floetry and a slew of movie power house execs: Donald DeLine,
Nina Jacobson, Walter Parkes & Laurie MacDonald, Mike Sheresky and
Nick Reed. It was interesting to watch "been there, seen it, done it"
execs discover a whole new level of coolness when partying at a rock
star's "casa de royale". Faith Evans and her entourage took over the
pool room while Macy Gray, Jessica Simpson and Nikka Costa lounged in
the richly dressed gazebo by the pool. Paris Hilton crashed the party
just in time to see Prince perform with the band as John Legend,
Mekhi Pfieffer, Goapele, Ani DiFranco, Jay Leno, Patti LaBelle, and
Babyface, Will.I.Am from the BEP's and Pras cheered on.

Goodness! And that was just Saturday! I had no idea that my
connection with a personal friend in the Prince camp would garner me
a second invite to Sunday's party!

The Post Grammy party at "3121" received guests with a funky new song
by the same title bumping in the background while beautiful girls
passed out trays of chocolates as guests walked in.

The grand entrance was no preparation for what was to come. Let's
preface it with saying I would gladly give up another year of my life
if I could re-capture the moment that sparked Maceo Parker's band
conjuring up Prince on keyboard and guitar trading off with Alicia
Keys, on James Brown "Make it Funky" and it was.... until Stevie
Wonder came on stage and gave everyone on the floor a refresher
course on the true meaning of funk and soul -- Prince, Stevie, Maceo,
Alicia and Matthew McConaughey on congas?!!!!Penelope Cruz, Salma
Hayek, Mia Maestro, ?uestlove from the Roots, Malcom J Warner, Elijah
Wood all had the opportunity to witness history in the making.

Unfortunately, the gates to the front door closed before the rest of
the guests could get in:
Usher, Goapele, Mos Def, Q-Tip, Beyonce & Jay-Z, Faith Evans, Mekhi
Pfieffer, Eddie Murphy, Wesley Snipes, Arsenio Hall, Jaime Foxx,
Lawrence Fishburne, Gwen and Gavin, Shakira, John Mayer and Ricky
Martin all missed out on "3121 xperience".

As the song goes, "3121.. u can come if u want 2 .. but u can never
leave" ...

Well I finally did, at 7:30 am. May my epitaph read: "3121 killed
me".

Volviendo a la peli, yo sí que tengos muchas ganas de verla. Carmen Maura me encanta, y las pelis de Almodovar en general también. Y eso que a menudo me hacen llorar, por el tan real parecido a algunas realidades!!

Bueno, pues va a hablar un manchego de nacimiento  A mi personalmente nunca me ha gustado Almodóvar, y me llevé una grandísima decepción cuando vi la tan aclamadísima MUJERES AL BORDE DE UN ATAQUE DE NERVIOS, que me pareció (y me sigue pareciendo) una mi**da pinchada en un palo. Pero hete aquí que veo Todo Sobre Mi Madre, Hable Con Ella y La Mala Educación y me gustan.

Así que Almodóvar no me parece un genio, como muchos creen, pero al menos sus últimas pelis me han gustado, que no es poco.

Y cambiando de tema: Anabel, creo que deberías dar nombres cuando dices "los artistas manchegos tienen algo especial", porque según lo he leído me ha venido a la cabeza Sara Montiel. Que sí, que es muy "especial", pero creo que no del tipo de "especial" al que te referías ¿no?

Bueno, pues haya salido quien haya salido de nuestra tierra: ¡¡¡ VIVA CASTILLA-LA MANCHA !!!
