He pensado en proponer otro juego, pero para ello necesito la colaboración de al menos diecinueve pobladores. A ver qué os parece. Se trata de elegir las 100 mejores canciones de Prince según el criterio de El Poblado: inéditas u oficiales, no importa. Basta con que las haya compuesto Prince. Estas serían las reglas:
- Cada poblador puede votar un máximo de cinco canciones. Se pueden proponer las cinco canciones de golpe o poco a poco.
- No vale repetir. Si, por ejemplo, yo voto "The beautiful ones" en primer lugar, ningún otro poblador puede votarla ya.
- El juego termina cuando se llega a la canción número 100. Por tanto, importa la rapidez de elección. Esta regla tiene una doble función: por una parte, se evita tener que pensar mucho (lo que iría en detrimento del objetivo: buscar las 100 canciones imprescindibles de todas todas). Por otra parte, habrá más dinamismo y terminaremos antes la lista.
- Si el juego tiene éxito y más pobladores quieren participar, nos reservamos el derecho a proponer otra selección de 100 canciones más en el futuro.
Una disculpa sincera para todos aquellos pobladores que no puedan participar por hallarse ausentes del foro durante estos días. Quién sabe si llegarán a tiempo para jugar o, con suerte, se decidan a abrir otra selección de 100 canciones.

La descarga del DVD Revelations 2.1. por años.
Luego te vas al DATABANK (en DVD, Revelations 2.1.), miras la cancion que buscas, su año, y te descargas el fichero en cuestion.
Siguiendo estos pasos he encontrado:
Billy's Sunglases en el año 1.984.
Wonderfull Ass en el año 1.986 (3 temas).
God Is Alive en el año 1.988, aunque no se si es la que buscas.
Una vez fui aceptado en la pagina de funktank.tk, que fue quien cargo todo este material, y muchisimo mas, y nos "confeso" que esos ficheros llevaban mas de 2 años alli..... asi que anda que no habran ayudado a buscadores de temas (yo el primero ;) ).
Tambien lei una vez en este poblado un agradecimiento hacia Funktank. Yo me sumo a este agradecimiento, por que fue quien me descubrio todo el mundo de los bootlegs, y mas aun, quien me enseño el verdadero valor de "compartir", que era lo que haciamos en su pagina, pagina que no tengo ni idea de porque, dejo de funcionar a principios de año.
No me escaqueo: Si tienes problemas descargando busco esas canciones, que debo tenerlas (por que me descargue todos esos ficheros...... y muchos mas) y te las envio.
Shockadelicquake, un millón de gracias de nuevo. Trataré de encontrar esas canciones desde ese enlace. Esta puede ser la solución, y así dejaré de marear tanto a los pobladores. Estoy flipando, no tenía ni idea de que existía una página así.
También he pensado que, debido al éxito anterior y a que hay un remanente de 102 canciones, podríamos seguir el juego hasta llegar a las 200.

Hay que preguntarle a Mr. Dee. Si su "Crucial" es la versión de "Crystal ball", creo que no hay problema con dejar tu canción. Pero, si Mr. Dee se refiere al outtake con Eric Leeds, tienes que poner otra. ¿Mr. Dee, andas por ahí?
De todas formas, DMSR, si quieres puedes cambiar tu "Crucial" por otra que no haya salido. A mí me parece que ahora está más divertido, porque ya han salido canciones muy buenas (prácticamente imprescindibles) y ahora está más complicado elegir. Porque 150 ó 170 se dicen fácil, sin pensar; pero, ¿cómo sabes cuál es mejor entre las otras dos mil que conoces?

Si encontráis alguna repetición o algún fallo, por favor no dejéis de advertírmelo. En cuanto pueda, comentaré algunas impresiones que me ha suscitado el resultado. A bote pronto, me he llevado dos sorpresas grandes:
- Hay canciones que no tengo o incluso de las que jamás había oído hablar (como "Stone").
- Me gusta casi toda la obra de Prince y, como mucho, haría una lista de 20 canciones que consideraría flojas. Me ha sorprendido encontrarme con algunas de esta hipotética lista aquí. Eso quiere decir que para gustos los colores y que no sobra ninguna canción de Prince: lo que para unos es descartable, para otros es imprescindible.
Nota: quito las dos últimas de Hello01, lo siento. No por respetar las reglas, sino para respetar el turno y las oportunidades de los otros pobladores.
La primera observación gira en torno al número de canciones incluidas de cada disco.

Mis valoraciones para dar por terminado este tema. Por mi parte, y al no ser que debáis corregirme o señalarme algo, descanso con el objetivo plenamente cumplido. Muchísimas gracias por la ayuda y la participación, valiosas y útiles para mí. Si queréis, aceptando la sugerencia de Shockadelicquake de que 200 canciones son poquísimas, podéis continuar el juego hasta llegar a las 300. En ese caso, tendrían que ir en primer lugar las dos últimas canciones que ha propuesto hello01: "Dionne" y "Dig U better dead".
Apreciaciones subjetivas:
- Que "For you" tenga 2 canciones y "Prince" 3 entra dentro de lo esperado por mí. También imaginaba que "Batman" (3), "Graffiti bridge" (4), "Come" (3), "Musicology" (2) y "3121" (3) no iban a tener demasiados votos en función del número de canciones que ofrecen.
- Pensé que obras maestras como "Dirty mind" (3), "Parade" (5) y "The rainbow children" (5) tendrían más votos. Sigo pensando que merecían alguno más, aunque sé que es muy difícil entrar en una selección de 200 canciones.
- Hay discos casi enteros que confirman la genialidad unánime de Prince para todos: "1999" (9), "Purple rain" (6, aunque quizá merecía más), "Around the world in a day" (6, mismo caso que el anterior), "Sign "O" the times" (13) y "Lovesexy" (8. Son los clásicos clásicos, los de toda la vida. Los imprescindibles, pase lo que pase.
- Hay sorpresas mayúsculas para mí, ya que pensé que estos discos iban a estar peor valorados: "Controversy" (6, igual que "Purple rain" o "Around the world in a day" con solo una canción menos de partida), "Black album" (6 de 7 posibles, ya que hemos incluido "When 2 R in love" en "Lovesexy") y "Rave un2 the joy fantastic" (6, igual que los anteriores y más que "The rainbow children"). Mi interpretación, no sé si errónea, es que estos discos contienen un abanico mayor de canciones subjetivas. No están llenas de genialidad contundente, pero cada fan puede elegir o recordar alguna en especial.
- "Planet Earth" está bien valorado: ni más ni menos que la mitad de sus canciones aparece aquí (5). Quizá se deba a que acaba de salir, por lo que el tiempo lo pondrá en su lugar. Si con los años se mantiene en tan buena valoración, habría que plantearse la posibilidad (para mí bastante cierta) de que se trata de una nueva obra maestra.
- Pienso que "Kamasutra" y "N-E-W-S" son buenos discos y hubieran merecido al menos un voto.
- Hay 19 outtakes. No tengo ni idea de estadística, pero me parece que equivaldría más o menos a un 10% del total de la lista. Estoy bastante de acuerdo con esta valoración. Los outtakes suponen, en cuanto a calidad y preferencias para los fans, un 10% de la discografía imprescindible de Prince. En realidad es mucho, y no me extraña que luchemos tanto por conseguir los inéditos. Hay al menos un 10% de calidad extraordinaria que no está en ningún disco oficial. Sólo con los outtakes incluídos en esta lista haríamos dos discos increíbles. Esta estadística era la que más me interesaba saber.
- Hay 7 colaboraciones. Se podría hacer una lectura similar a la anterior. No basta con tener los discos oficiales de Prince: en sus colaboraciones hay muchas joyas.
- Hay 3 caras B sin disco, todas ellas anteriores a la publicación de "The hits/ the B-sides". Hubiera sido tal vez más acertado un disco doble de B-SIDES; ahora los fans lo valoraríamos muchísimo. La prueba está en que "The hits/ the B-sides" recibe 9 votos de los 24 posibles. Y 8 de estos votos son para las caras B ("Peach" se ofreció como tema nuevo).
- Me sorprende que "Diamonds and pearls" (9) tenga mejor valoración que "O(+>" (7). También ha sido para mí curioso que "Crystal ball" (8 ó 10 si incluimos "The truth") supere a "Emancipation" (6).
- De la trilogía de la NPG, "Exodus" (4) y "Newpower soul" (3) quizá merezcan ser tomados como discos de Prince con pleno derecho, dada la influencia que han tenido en los fans. "Goldnigga" (1) está peor considerado, pero también se menciona justamente.
- Hay dos remixes: "Anotherloverholeyonhead" (extended) y "Thieves in the temple" (extended). Esto también me intriga: en cierto modo es descorazonador y en cierto modo estimulante. Supone que hay versiones de canciones que superan lo presentado oficialmente.
- Observamos cuatro canciones exclusivas de internet: una respectivamente para "Xpectation", "The chocolate invasion", "The slaughterhouse" y "C-note". Quizá esperaba alguna más, pero me gustan mucho las elegidas. En este sentido, me ha sorprendido positivamente la buena valoración de "One nite alone..." (4, tantas como los demás discos ofrecidos por la npgmusicclub juntos según el criterio de los pobladores).
- Quizá sale un poco injusta la comparación de "The vault... old friends 4 sale" (4) con "Chaos and disorder" (1). A mí me gusta más "The vault...", pero quizá no por tanta diferencia.
- "One nite alone... live!" es un gran disco, pero por las condiciones del juego tenía muy pocas posibilidades de salir destacado (1). No obstante, se confirma que "Xenophobia" es un temazo.
Ya sé que esta prueba es totalmente subjetiva, porque faltan muchos pobladores por participar y el criterio para elegir depende mucho de las sensaciones del momento. Pero al menos me ha servido para confirmar o negar intuiciones. La discografía de Prince es inabarcable, incluso la imprescindible. Muchas gracias finalmente por toda vuestra atención y ayuda.
Seguro que de una pasada, todos encontramos a faltar canciones que nos gustan muchisimo. Yo he visto 3 de un plumazo, osea, practicamente sin mirar, pero NO pienso decir cuales son porque sino ....... ;)
Yo doy por buenas tus valoraciones, y te apoyo por completo en el tema de las B-SIDES. Lo que mas me cabrea de siempre en la discografia de Prince es que siempre se queda corto en algo. Si. Pone unas B-SIDES ...... pero se deja otras que tendras que buscar en otros discos..... vamos, seguro que todos vosotros sabeis a lo que me refiero ( :furious3: ).
Y esto por supuesto lo extiendo a muchos de los outtakes. Seguro que a muchos nos gustarian versiones remasterizadas de sus discos ..... y que de una vez por todas incluyeran los outtakes de esos discos, aun cuando se pasara de disco sencillo a doble, o a triple, o a ..... ::)
Pero en fin, esto que es tan comun y natural en otros artistas, seguro que no se producira en EL ARTISTA ;)

Ante todo darte la enhorabuena por la idea amebaboy y agradecer como siempre la colaboración de todos nosotros, pobladores.
Otro modo de ver el cuadro que nos ha quedado, sería clasificando los albumes por porcentaje de canciones escogidas dentro de cada album (por ej. Lovesexy 8/9= 88.88%). Para elaborarlo, he tratado de descontar todos los cortes que realmente no son canciones que perjudicarían a determinados albumes de un modo injusto (espero que no se me haya ido alguno).

Antes de dejar cualquier tipo de opinión conviene recalcar que:
- Esto es un simple juego.
- Cualquier opinión o comentario que se haga es un tanto inexacta dado que solo han participado un pequeño porcentaje de pobladores con unas condiciones concretas.
- Existirá algún poblador al que no le guste Lovesexy y apenas salve algunos cortes y alguno para el que N.E.W.S o Kamasutra no tenga desperdicio alguno de principio a fin.
Aclaración: Mi propósito con esta clasificación es conseguir hacer una valoración de los albumes como tales. Uno de los motivos que en su día me engancharon de Prince (allá por el 87/88), era que sus vinilos me los papeaba de principio a fin sin pegar saltos con la aguja. Con otros artistas me aburría eso de solo salvar 2/3 canciones por album, las maniobras con las susodichas eran un tanto incómodas, según la intensidad de las luces ;). Ese fue uno de los motivos por los que acabé en las redes de Prince, uno de los pocos que hacían discos redondos (todo para las "orejas", mente y corazón). Por eso ahora me fastidia "un poco" tener que ir salvando canciones de la quema. En cualquier caso, me resigno y convivo con ello.
Conclusiones:
- Me congratula saber que el "Poblado" tiene como obras imprescindibles Lovesexy, 1999, SOTT, Black Album o Controversy.
- Parece que el momento culmen (de máxima intensidad) de la carrera de Prince en cuanto a albumes se refiere según muchos pobladores fue el 87-88.
- Es interesante ver como muchos pobladores nacieron con Diamonds and Pearls, vivieron sus directos del 93 y ya enganchados disfrutaron de lo lindo de O(+> y The gold experience.
- Considero que se es benévolo con Planet Earth como album, pero también sé que el tiempo coloca a cada uno en su sitio.
- Con respecto al alto porcentaje de outtakes y B-sides, deja a las claras la ingente cantidad de material de alta calidad que no ha visto la luz o lo ha tenido que hacer del modo que se ha podido. Antes se peleaba con las discográficas por sacar más material y ahora dificilmente llega a cuadrar un disco "redondo" (opinión personal). En es lo que tienen las cosas.
Espero que os haya gustado el desglose de las 200 canciones en % dentro de su album respectivo.

cesary ;), está claro que cada uno de nosotros echaremos en falta determinados temas. Era previsible que el juego iba a dejar canciones imprescindibles en el tintero, pero tampoco vale eso de quejarse a posteriori. Es cierto, nos olvidamos de "ONE SONG" y de tantas otras, pero entona tu mea culpa en primer lugar, creo que el 3 de Septiembre se te pasó leer el post con la nueva información/ampliación de 5 votos y dejaste pasar la oportunidad perfecta para dejar tu sello personal en el juego. Con todo el afecto del mundo, espero que la próxima no se te pase ;).
En cualquier caso, lo importante fue que el sentido/planteamiento del tema fue claro, la participación intensa, de modo que pudimos dejar nuestras preferencias personales para al final tener una impresión general de los "gustos" del Poblado.

Me he dado cuenta de que este tema se cruza con uno llamado "Ayuda Outtakes". En ese tema, algunos pobladores dan su consejo sobre sus outtakes favoritos. He decidido incluir, saltándome las reglas y apremiado por las circunstancias, las canciones que aconsejan en ese tema y que no estaban en esta lista que estamos haciendo. Sobre todo porque he visto que los pobladores no nos animamos a participar en este juego, y no me gustaría dejarlo incompleto o en el olvido. Creo que así doy un pequeño empujón a la lista de outtakes y, al fin y al cabo, siguen siendo canciones elegida por El Poblado. Puede ser interesante sacar conclusiones (relativas, eso sí) respecto a qué años son más prolíficos en cuanto a outtakes. Un pequeño análisis podría confirmar o desmentir muy bien el sentir de algunos seguidores de las distintas etapas de Prince. En resumen:
- Entre 1976 y 1981 hay pocos outtakes disponibles. Parece que, cuando Prince sacó sus primeros cuatro discos, aún no tenía tantísimo material y oficialmente pudo presentar (más o menos) lo mejor que tenía. Prácticamente sería sacrificada (al menos) una canción muy buena por año.
- Entre 1982 y 1986, Prince está en su máxima eclosión creativa. En 1986, culmina su progresión imparable. Ni más ni menos que once outtakes imprescindibles en ese año, casi el doble de lo que obtienen sus inmediatos perseguidores (1983 y 1984 con seis outtakes cada uno). Cabe decir que en esa época Prince, tanto en calidad como en cantidad, posiblemente compuso sus mejores outtakes conocidos. Y que ya por entonces se convertía en incontable su obra. En esa época, en la que publicó discos históricos como "1999", "Purple rain", "Around the world in a day" o "Parade", al menos hubiera habido material para tres discos excelentes más.
- Entre 1987 y 1988, viene la época depresiva post-partum. Es cuando Prince resume todo su esfuerzo creativo en su mejor álbum: "Sign "O" the times". Y cuando viene la crisis surgida de la controversia "Black album"/ "Lovesexy". Hay menos outtakes, o no son tan buenos para los seguidores del Poblado. Quizá la crisis de Prince se debió al sobre-esfuerzo de los últimos años; y entonces sería no sólo vital, sino también creativa (desde el punto de vista de alguien demasiado exigente consigo mismo).
- Entre 1989 y 1995, Prince tranquiliza su angustia y se dedica a trabajar mucho. Las canciones son muy buenas; quizá menos apasionadas pero más elaboradas artísticamente. Tiene un nuevo esplendor creativo entre 1991 y 1993, años que coinciden con una etapa muy buena desde el punto de vista comercial y personal ("Diamonds and pearls", "O(+>" Y "The hits/ the B-sides"). Alrededor de 1993 y 1995, van apareciendo más canciones dedicadas a Mayte.
- A partir de 1996 hasta 1998, Prince corta de raíz la distribución de nuevos outtakes. Ya no será tan fácil extraer canciones de su baúl. Ha conseguido la independencia discográfica, separándose de la Warner Bros, con "Emancipation". Y toma un sendero de control de su obra: ello supone más canciones oficiales, más discos publicados y muchos menos outtakes. Sin embargo, con discos triples o quintúples lo que más consiguió Prince fueron críticas negativas, pérdida de prestigio y quizá de dinero. Eso tuvo consecuencias en el futuro, ya que se dosificaría mucho más el material que viese la luz.
- A partir de 1999 y hasta 2006, prácticamente lo único que puede considerarse outtake es lo que Prince publicó en la desaparecida web npgmusicclub. Sería el caso de "Habibi", una de las grandes canciones que se quedó sin disco. Y de otras que no aparecen en esta lista, como "Silver tongue" o "Glass cutter".
- En 2007, resulta prácticamente imposible conseguir canciones nuevas de Prince que no sean oficiales.

Aunque apareciera en 1987, el album se venia gestando desde bastante antes, y no olvidemos que vino precedido de sus proyectos Dream Factory, Camille y Cristall Ball (Proyecto), de los cuales salieron la mayoria de sus temas..... y muchos de los Outtakes que aparecen en la lista.
Simplemente una opinion que por supuesto puede ser erronea.

Estoy de acuerdo. Es eso lo que quería decir, pero no me he explicado bien. Gracias por la aclaración.
